Training about the implementation of the bilingualism within the local public administration

The staff of mayor’s office in Sfântu Gheorghe-Sepsiszentgyörgy participated in an interactive training held by CEMO representatives, Enikő Szigeti and Miklós Barabás. The main objective of the training was to raise awareness on the importance of bilingualism and its long-term benefits for the future of the Hungarian community, to encourage the use of Hungarian language by local governments and to increase the number of Hungarian files and forms.

During the first part of the training, participants learned about the Romanian legal background that regulates the linguistic rights of the national minorities in Romania followed by creation of draft strategies related to the application of the existing linguistic rights within the local public administration, namely in the Mayor’s office of Sfântu Gheorghe-Sepsiszentgyörgy.
